I needed several 8' 2x4's in a hurry last week and Menards was the closest. I expected to pay around $9.50/ stick, but they had come down to $ 4.27  . On top of that, I only needed to sort through 8 to get 5 "useable" ones instead of digging 30/10  !!

That IS a decent price from HD, I will only step foot in our local HD as a VERY last resort- too expensive for everything, even before the pandemic

$20 PLywood a year ago... ( 1/2 inch CDX) was $72. in May... Bought it last month for $42. Down to $32. today......... Wood futures are getting back toward normal the last week or so....NOw construction is starting to pick back up, so that might change demand again................plywood came from Brazil. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

Just curios, why cdx and not OSB ? Construction never slowed down around the South Bend area, even during the "highest" part of the lumber prices.
