The bendix gear of the starter of my 5040 would not disengage the flywheel.  Took the starter apart and the fork between the solenoid and the starter is bad.  Anyone know where I might find one?  Half of the solenoid side is gone and the other is badly cracked.
Thanks,
Doug

These units had differant starters on them .Name of starter and # needed . At one point we put a after market delco on them which turned out to be JUNK also.

Check your number and check the list to get a idea of what might work .
Try auto electric, rebuild shop to see if they can order or have one on old starter
