So I was cutting hay with my 8050 and the PTO stopped. When I went to look at it the 1000 rpm shaft had started to come out of the 540 hollow shaft. After looking at parts manual pics and the book I think the castle nut that holds that 1000 rpm ring in place has come off/loose.

Can I access that from underneath? And just (providing there is no damage) put the castle nut back on with a new retaining wire or is there something in completely missing?

Thanks!

Everything is accessible after removing plate and letting the oil drip out for a day. If the castle nut came off or moved that much, you will more likely than not not have bearing and or seal issues.

Best to take it all out, reseal and readjust.                MACK
