The owners manual I have for my D-17 is for a Series i.  I have a series II.  I see just 2 grease zerks for the front steering.  Does that sound correct?  Thanks in advance!

Original tie rods had no zerks but replacements usually do. Early D17 models had no zerk for the pivot in the front bolster but later ones do.

Series II in 1960 was mostly cosmetic.

Cream wheels, grille, decals; Persian Orange II Paint.

Same time as intro of D-15.

I have drilled holes and tapped threads into the probably original tie rod ends on a couple wide fronts on WD-45's. Pumped out some nasty looking grease and have been OK since. The ends were tight to begin with. Did same to front wheel hub caps. Lots easier than disassembly to pack bearings.

Trouble with that on wheel bearings is they need to have the nut adjusted up once in a while to keep the bearings tight.

Pumping grease through an added zerk in the dust cap could blow out the inner seal.

Some RV's have that 'easy lube' feature.

But you have to remove a rubber Dust Plug to access the zerk which is in the end of the axle.
