So i just got a WC SN 143796S, it is a steel rear end and Gas/Kerosene tractor. I have not started it but the engine is free. For some reason the starter switch is on the opposite side of the missing starter push rod. The starter switch has no mount for a starter rod lever either. Second there is another pull rod on the steering column that goes all the way to the magneto but is not connected anywhere. Any ideas as to what gives with these differences in this WC? Pics attached.

Got a rod going to the choke?

Yes the rod closest to the steering wheel goes to the choke. The the one furthest is not connected. Think it is the magneto shut off for the engine when running, but not connected to anything.

YEA.. if you are use to hand cranking the motor from the front, walking to the side and PUSHING THE BUTTON would have been a real upgrade !

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

The Magneto that should be on that particular WC with the rod kill should be a FMJ4B3A. The "A" indicates the grounding lever is on the engine side of the Mag. There is a special lever that mounts to the side of the Mag that the rod goes into to ground the Mag and shut down the engine. I have them in stock & on the website in the 2 piece Mag section so you can see what it looks like.  Looking at your picture, the Magneto has been changed and a regular 4B3 Mag has replaced the 4B3A original.  That's the reason the rod is there for the ride.......

Thanks Steve! That is exactly the info I needed and you are right about the mag being changed out. Checked the numbers and you are spot on as usual.
