Just bought a piece of land in Chenango County, NY and we now have a HD-3 crawler that has been sitting for many years.
Free to anyone who can come and (competently) remove it.
Crawler sits on a private forest road, about 1/4 mile off maintained road.

Am I wishful thinking that parts still have value to someone?

Thats an HD-5.  I would be there in a heartbeat if you where closer.  Please dont scrap it we need all the parts we can get, and that dozer looks quite savable.  The GM powered HD-3 is extremely rare, as in 50(?) built.

Thanks for the correction...this is a world that is new to us.
We would love for someone to get it for parts or to get it running again.

And from a little research, it has a Carco Model E winch.

Andrew, if you were a thousand miles closer, I would have accepted the challenge of getting it out and home for your asking price.
Did you ever get a story on the old girl?

I’m about 2 hours away from it. Drp is probably 2 hours away also.
Bleeds orange is pretty close. Maybe he can help if someone was interested.

The pieces of the story I know...
We bought the land from three brothers whose father bought the property in the mid-50's to be used as recreational and hunting land for his family. This crawler was used to establish a 2 acres pond in the mid-60's and to establish a new 1/2 mile road soon after.
The father died in the 90's and maybe the knowledge to do a repair and get it running was just lost. I wish they would have gotten it out before it weathered so hard.

Thanks for thinking through who is close...I figure this is going to happen with word-of-mouth and I hope someone can get it who appreciates it.

I would hate to see to see it lost. Bet two or three of us could get it out of the woods.
