I went to the local county fair where my Granddad's and Uncle's AC dealership had been and got to talking to a John Deere guy who had bought a bunch of stuff from their dealership when he sold it.  He said they used some of it and threw a buch away, but he thought he still had some stuff. I told him I would be interested in buying it if he still had any of it.  Well, he called and I met him yesterday and this is the stuff he still had.

12' combine cutter bar still in the wooden case with the dealership tags still on it
2 rockshafts and brackets for a C allis still bundled
some gauges, dist cap, other misc parts in AC boxes
pull type combine gauge cluster
reels for 40, 60 and 66 combines
old pto shaft with the u joint held in by small plates and screws
plow coluter shaft
and other misc brackets, chains, etc.
all this stuff is NOS and came from my Granddad's dealership.

He would not take a dime for any of it; he said he could tell by the looks of my tractor and how I had talked about my Granddad and Uncle that it would have a good home.  Sure made my day.  Just wanted to share.

You both sound like a class act.  Happy for your good fortune in finding stuff from your family's dealership and for making a great friend.

I love those stories too, I just gave a 1961 McCormick Farmall Dealer Catalog ,in mint condition ,to a Farmall collector. I could have sold it on EBAY , but I wanted it in the hands of someone I knew would appreciate it.  I also was the reciepient of the AC Dealer Sign, 12 foot, lighted double sided in a similar manner. A few good folks left in America!

Michael,
Glad the fair turned out so well for you.  I wish I could have made the time to stop by and say hello.  Maybe next year?
