Picked up a SC plow and blade from a friend of mine Thursday. He bought a CA with attachments and decided that he didn’t want to keep these 2 pieces so I snatched them up. He kept the nice #7 rear sickle mower.

That's a nice blade....doesn't look like it's ever been abused.
If you intend to use the blade on a larger snap-coupler tractor, you will need to move those latch pieces to the outer holes. Also, there should be a roll pin in each of those pins to keep them from sliding out like they are in the picture. Congratulations on a great find of one of the most popular A-C attachments.

You are correct. The arms will need to be moved to the outer bolt holes to work on my WD. The plow is missing the 2 snap coupler pins. Easy fix, may make them out of 5/8” rod or buy new ones. I would have thought they would have a hole drilled in the center and a roll pin to keep the pin from sliding out. The blade shows very little wear in the cutting edge or the adjusting holes.

Made some new lift pins for the blade and plow. Drove in some pins to secure them.

Very cool!

I need to make a cutting edge/ wear bar for the blade I bought last fall before I really start to use it. Any chance you may be able to post some dimensions of that cutting edge?

It’s a standard 6 foot underbody scraper blade commonly used on highway snowplows

gee, I don't know there's a lot wrong with that rear blade..
1) No welds  on the pitch adjusting wheel
2) blade pitch screws aren't solidly rusted
3) isn't missing the rearward trianglur steel piece
4) pitch adjusting thumbwheel screw isn't welded together
5) no additional steel welded to frame sections by snap-coulper eye
6) no welds to streghen the 'tilt' blocks on the frame
7) no rot on the left/right turn post
8) no new steel pipe on the turn post...

oh ratz ,that's MY blade I'm talking about..
yours is SHOWROOM PERFECT...

sigh..
sniff,sniff

ya dun REAL good !!!

kinda seems a shame to get her dirty !

mines's heavier though( from all the extra 'upgrades' of steel)

Got a good laugh there Jay, yeah I am very happy and shocked at the same time. Wasn’t expecting my friend to part with them as they both are in such good shape. Plow has new plow points, shares I believe is the correct terminology. All adjusting screws are free. Presently changing my pin hitch WD over to snap coupler. Have all the parts...just need to get the time after work to finish it.

Finally completed the snap coupler conversation on my WD this evening so I can use the plow and blade. Pin hitch drawbar was the only thing used on the ole girl. Mowing with a pull type or raking hay has been her life. Drawbar was worn half way through. The side mounted 82S mower was added last year so now she can do even more. Bought the couplers from a good friend who use to own our local AC dealership. He finally retired in December at the young age of 80.

Also upgraded the battery cables as they were in need of replacing. Bought some #1 wielding cables from local wielding shop and crimped new ends on. Cleaned up the ground location on the trans and she spins over like a 12v even though she is still 6v. A much needed upgrade. I’m ready for hay season!!
