226 4 cylinder gas engine
could someone tell me if this is the correct valve arrangement?
 starting at front of head     E  I   I  E   E  I   I  E
Also if anyone need them I ended up with a set of .020 rod bearings and a set of .030 main bearings new still in box.
Many thanks

Old McDonald had a farm, E I E I....

But seriously, your valve arrangement looks correct.  The exhaust valves are a little bigger than the intake valves.

I am setting the valve lash and they are a little loud and I just wanted to be sure if I was doing it right, I have worked diesels for years and the valves adjust a lot different from an allis chalmers gas.
I do appreciate your info.

If you ever have the occasion to remove your intake/exhaust manifold, you will see why your configuration is correct.
There are 4 exhaust ports, one at each end and two in the middle.
There are only 2 intake ports as 1 and 2  cylinders are "siamesed" into a common port and 3 and 4 cylinders into a second port.
Not the ideal setup for a high performance racing engine but works fine on a tractor.

On second thought, I guess it will be fairly obvious if you look at the manifold configuration as its mounted on the engine.
