Darn, was gonna put the pistons in the block today.  The book specifies that the wrist pins have clamp screws and gives instructions on how to position the off set in reference to the clamp screws.

This motor has free floating rods on the wrist pins with no clamp screws.

Can someone straighten me out on how to positions the off sets of the rod ends when instaling this type of piston assembly?

I could be wrong but I think you can tell if its wrong by the way the upper rod half wants to set on the rod journal . With a floating pin the offset is in the rod halves.

Here you go Dave. Taken from the IT manual.

Connecting rods are offset; numbers 1 and 3 having long part of bearing towards
flywheel; numbers 2 and 4 having long part of bearing toward timing gears.
Tighten connecting rod nuts to 35-40 Ft.-Lbs. of torque and install pal nuts.
Tighten pal nuts finger tight plus % turn.

The percent sign cam up instead of the fraction that I believe is 1/3.

thanks Charlie

Guess I just cannot get enough books.

My parts book also shows the type of rod with the wrist pin bolt on them.
