Had it done today. Gots a balloon inside my bladder, and a tube with a bag strapped to me leg. No pain inside the bod but outside it stings. Gonna have to wear this 1-4 days, depending on the amount of blood Iam putting out. Hope there's something good on TV next few days. Walking is awkward. Not gonna be doing any dancing soon. Blood pressure Is back to normal. Old gal drove up and back. Rush hr traffic comming home, her driving during that raized me blood pressure more than the surgery.      Ouch. Dang blind cat just jumped up on me lap.

Glad to hear you made it through the surgery fine. Praying that you will have a speedy and complete recovery. Don't let the cat stick its claws in that bag. Ouch Take it easy and enjoy all the fine entertaining programs on tv.  NOT. Reading your book sounds like a much better option.

My brothers' only lingering side effect is fatigue, they get tired more often, nap more often and find have less energy to be productive at home.  Both suffer of this.

I had/did the same thing. Ten days after sugrey I came down with pneumonia which knocked me down much worse than the surgery.

DO WHAT THE DOCTOR SAYS!  And you will get better quicker.  They went in to take my bladder out and took the prostate at the same time.  I thought they shoulda woke me up for my permission.LOL  Anyways, I got a bag glued to my side for the rest of my life.  The great part is, I can pee anywhere and not get a ticket for indecent exposure!LOL

Get better soon dude, and I hope you have a sweet little nurse take out you catheter like I did.  Quite the enjoyable procedure.

Sitting here watching Texas Storage Wars. Don't hurt tonight. Been walking today. Sure is awkward walking with this darn bag between my legs. Nurse called me today and said remove the darn cathater tomorrow morning. Hoping its pink and not bright red. That way if I has any problems the Doc will be in. He's only 60 miles away.

Prayers for you Tom. That doesn't sound like any fun at all. Make sure to keep walking often as docs tell you and use that exhale gaget to keep the lung problems away.

The surgery part is the easy thing -----being stuck having to wear diapers for the rest of our lives is what sucks!
They did mine with a robot 1-1/2 years ago---never did recover from it. being weak all the time is the worst thing for me, but everybody is different.
Hopefully you will have better luck than I did! Prayers for full recovery from us!!

I had one of those bags for a while. If you are a beer drinking man you can make some $ by betting who will go to the bathroom first at your local watering hole.

Do you get to pull the catheter out yourself? Had to do mine the day after surgery, as it caught as I turned over in the bed and yanked it half out, did the rest by myself in the shower. The worst part is taking a piss for the next week, stings like a mother. Good luck.

Pulled it out yesterday morning. Didn't hurt. Trying to P is a problem. It seems to have gotten better tonight. Doesn't hurt, but its so dang slow. Maybe swelled up inside. At least not dribbling down my leg now.

Glad to hear it's getting better for you Tom.  NOT one of lifes nicer things.  At least you got to take it out.  Others that I've heard from have had to have the bag forever.  I wouldn't like that either...BUT...

Last night I was up every 30 minutes running in to P. That is not an exageration., every 30 dang minutes. I came in the house about 5:00 tonight after a 100 mile round trip in the van.   Things are running a whole lot better tonight. Not like when I was 20 but maybe she'll get close to that.

Shameless, I'd have to fly to Karlsruhe Germany and buy some Monninger beer. It spoiled me, I left there in Dec of 70 and havn't found an American beer that I like. And I have looked. One of these days I'm gonna try some of these that are made in the state. Couple of guys I know make their own, they claim its good. And I is P'n better today. Guess I better make sure that works good before I gets too serious about drinking beer. Hope your getting along OK too. Old gal is a dragging me to Menard's next week, gotta build more bookshelves for her. Dang lumber price is crazy. Plus I want to build another hundred medium boxes for the bee hives. Looks like 10-8' 1x12's for shelves and 20-16' 1x6's for the medium boxes. Supposed to 35° here tomorrow and snow another 3". Oh well, I put out 2 big bales out today, first thing those stinking darn female goats did was jump up on the first 1 and P all over it. I guess if they wanna eat it that way? Maybe its like salid dressing to them. Old gal is suffering from Sale Barn withdrawal. Says she's going Tuesday and buy a couple of calves. Dammmmmm just something else for me to carry feed to. She can't do it. Some day I gots to buy a creep feeder, just have the coop boys and gals keep it filled up.
