Have you seen the price of OIL FILTERS lately. I recently looked for one for my WC. My God the prices have gone through the roof. Is a reasonably priced filter just plain gone???
In the future, I may have to take it apart, wash it out, repack it, and reuse it. Anybody done this with success??

Yes, these were getting pricey two years ago. I bought a case of them then from Petroil. They were around $67.00 plus shipping per case then and now are $105.00. Here's a link to them. Shipping will be around $35.00. Price ends up being $11.67 per filter vs $8.50 when I got mine. Don't know if you need a case but maybe you can split a case with a buddy or something. I wouldn't risk an engine over the price of an oil filter. Repacking your own filter doesn't sound like a good idea to me. These are packed to a specific density to maintain proper oil pressure within the engine. Your engine and totally your call.            http://usa.petroil.net/T300-M/" rel="nofollow - http://usa.petroil.net/T300-M/

I think they are costly but a new filter is pretty good investment.

It is the same thread as a fruit jar. Fill a fruit jar fill of cotton, change the cotton and go again.                MACK

Are they the same ones used on the WD/45 and D14, and maybe others?  I believe the number is C159?  Not sure on that number but I bought out the supply at TSC for $1.00 each.  I'll need to find out where I stuck them, but I may have several I could part with!

I took apart a NOS flat top Allis filter once and it is just full of all kinds of different cotton threads. Looks just like sewing thread. Never would I have thought that.
