Hey there, everyone! Forewarning.. This is my first A-C ever, so some questions may be pretty dumb. I apologize in advance!  So I recently picked up this 190XT. I've already addressed that in another post. Now I have questions about them/it.. I was told it was a 1969.. But according to the serial number, in all of its glorious quality stamping, it's either a 1968 or a 1971. Either 20519 or 29519. So that's nice. Thoughts on the serial?  Next question! I've heard rumor that they never made 190XT Series III with the G-2800 engine. This definitely has a G-2800 engine. But it also appears to be a Series III, and it is definitely a 190XT. I am looking for insight on this, as well as ways to differentiate a cab tractor (no fenders) between series. One thing I seem to have found is about the gauges. They removed the traction booster gauge with the Series III, as best I can tell. Mine follows this path.   Next question! I'm aware that some were made with 540 PTO, some with 1000 PTO and some with dual (540/1000) PTO. My PTO shaft appears to be 540, as it has 6 splines. But how do I know if it is dual? I know it is unlikely. But I read somewhere that the duals had the "big" PTO shift stick, and mine certainly seems to compared to what I've seen in manuals.  Last question.. for now! I remember reading somewhere about these tic-tac-toe stampings on the rear axle, but can anyone remind me what they mean, if anything?  That's all for now, although I am sure I'll have more questions later! I know this forum is full of great people and great knowledge, so I appreciate any responses anyone might have.

Alright. I tried google, but I'll just ask the stupid question. Lol. Where might the hydraulic pump be? I'm assuming around the hydraulic filter on the right-side ("passenger") under the cab.. But would that be accurate? EDIT: Well, I may be about to prove my stupidity.. But I think this is it. Forgive me, as it's covered in oil.  |

| Serial number is definitely 20519. Has the older style hydraulic pump as well matching what the Dr said. The 0 stamp doesn’t match the 9 stamp. |

Interesting. The Series III idea was the only explanation I had for my gauges to be different than the manuals. Any idea on that now?
Also, I don't think it really matters, but any way to tell between Series I and II? Again, no fenders, which seems to be the common method. |

| Series 1 has 2-bar grille. Series 2 has no bar grille like a series 3. |

| Your tractor has the 540 only PTO, manually shifted with the big lever on the left side of the seat as in your picture. The dual pto is identified by the pto shaft itself as it will a circular plate with 3 bolt holes around the shaft. |

| I believe it was tbran that explained the # marks on the rear axle in a recent post, and they mean the rear axles are the bigger sized ones, and that the rear end has the updates. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, :). |

| Dual PTO has a 4 bolt flange that is part of your shaft. if you can unbolt it and turn it around it would have a 1000 shaft on the other side. Looking at pictures in your other posts it appears that you have the late model fenders with a cab mounted over them and also the later grill. |

| Big diameter axles (3 1/4") were NOT an "update". They were a running change/improvement and were never installed in an older tractor with A-C's check book. |
