Did any of you gentlemen run one of these buggies back in the early '80's ?? I was talking to a guy this afternoon about him buying a Ranger in that era but was disappointed with the "donut" sized wheels/tires and I immediately recalled a neighboring dairy farmer that had the Courior. Sadly, my spelling might be wrong  .

Courier = Mazda .................early , mid 1970s.... by 1980 FORD built the Ranger. ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

| Guy I worked for back in the Eighties had one- ran the wheels off it and sure was alot easier on gas than his 76 Dodge w200 with a 400- it was a good little pickup ! |

I still have the 1972 Courier I bought brand new for $2735 in '72. Haven't driven it for a few years, has 243,000 miles on it. Engine needs to be rebuilt. Might put a diesel in it someday. Parked in a shed, will probably will go to the crusher when I'm gone. It does have a nice flat bed I built for it 20+ years ago. It has seen both oceans and a lot of country in between. Fun truck, first one I bought brand new. |

| Back in 1975 or 76 one of my fuel customers who was trying to start farming had 1. He put a bale stabber in the back of it. He lived 1/2 mile north of my bulk plant and was always stopping in for coffee. He lasted about 5 years before he got a job with the highway patrol and gave up on farming. I think that pickup got pushed in a ditch to stop erosion. He had a couple of IH tractors, I ask him if he had a couple of IH wheel weights wired under the front axle of that midget pickup. He said NA if I need extra weight on the front end I have my wife call her two fat sisters, I put 1 on each front fender. |
