Im looking for taller gears in my 7040, right now the 5th gear driver is 34 and the driven is 21, I see a 7050 has a 35 and 20 gear setup, what percent increase is this?

Since its physically impossible to make the driven gear smaller then 20 teeth, could I have a custom  made driver gear that is two or three teeth bigger that would still mesh???

I still have the option of the 3% faster planetairies  out of the 7060 as the DR suggested.

I also think 20% increase by the powershift range gears is to high.

Not sure what it is you're trying to accomplish ?? The input shaft (5th gear) speed is direct drive to the engine when the P.D. clutch is in LOW range. Are you trying to speed up 4th gear ??

The PD only engages  the high side shaft, low side spins freely.   Fourth gear driven cant be made small enough to go faster then 5th gear unfortunately.

If you change the low range input shaft and matching countershaft gear from a 7040-60-80 ( 34/21 teeth) to 7030-50 (35/20 teeth) looks to me like that should speed up the transmission 7%  to 7 1/2%, when you leave the high range gears at 38/29.  Trouble is, that would only speed up 5th gear, not the whole tranny. Now, you do realize that 4th gear from a 7030/50 transmission is about 13% to 14% faster than a 7040-60-80 4th gear ?? Maybe you need to use a 7030/50 faster fourth gear(+ 14%) combined with a 7030/50 slower high range input of 28 and 39 teeth (- 7%) for about a total of 7% speed up ??
