I'm wanting a snap-couple subsoiler for my D17. My question is are they model specific??  Other words would one from a CA fit a D17???  Thanks in advance Keith so. va.

Any of the snap-couple sub-soilers you find will fit your D-17. There was a No. 3, a No. 4, and the curved shank Oxnard model. Also a model 44 twin shank model, (I have never seen one). Hard as one shank pulls around here I think a 17 would struggle mightily with two!

The attachments for the CA as well as the D10/12 tractors will not work with a D17 unless you do a bit of modification, the length is shorter. Also the larger D-series tractor need to have the eye curved upward or the hitch will interfere with the bottom of the transmission/rear housing unless the lift links are long enough.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Agree with Paul and Dave the tongue is shorter on the CA,D10/12.Also I have a subsoiler that came with a WD had to notch the tongue out to use it on my D15 so it wouldn't jam up against the housing.Think I remember that the PTO shaft on the WD had to be removed to use it.

I'm thinking I have the 'curved Oxnard' subsoiler. Kinda looks like a '?' on it's side, with reversible 'point'.
Whatever it is, it works real good behind my D-14 !!
Now that shop is sold, wife says sell it....heck, she says sell ALL the 'tractor stuff'....

My comment is based on the fact that I have never seen, (in person or Norm's book) a sub-soiler for a CA, D-10, 12.

Edit; Looked at the 'Bible' again. It does say the no. 3&4 were available for the CA. Does not say anything about different length draw-bars.
