The steering orbit in my F2 has began to leak enough out the top shaft that it's now wet and needs wiped off. Used to be just damp forever. Hoping this is rather simple repair. I put some new seal in my 8070 years ago and hope this is similar but I don't remember what that took .I just remember it was not a bad job. Patrsbooks shows seal kit #71304442. I assume that is what I need. Any helpful advice welcome.

If I remember right it has a TRW unit in it which is a little harder to reseal. Has to come out and come apart. Scribe a mark at angle on out side for reassembling .        MACK

I had one that I think came out of an F2 that I installed in a Buda forklift. It started leaking out the shaft, and I just had to take the cover off the top to replace the seal. Maybe it was a Char-lynn (I don't remember), but it either came out of an F or F2.

HAH! I bought a service manual from Lynn Marshall a year or so ago. I need to dig it out and see what it says. Partsbooks shows like its a cap of sorts fastened to the top of unit. May not be as it appears?
