I have a tachometer wondering if it 4 or 6 cylinder. i am assuming it is a combine, hoping I can use it on my WC . I don't know if it 4 or 6 cylinder. The person did not scrap many sixes or big tractors.

Doesn't make any difference. It got its signal from a speed sensor on the flywheel I think.

I had one hooked up a 3208 cat, but #of notches on flywheel wasn't right so didn't register quite right. Don't remember how many notches it takes. Thought I had 12 and it 13 ?            MACK

Looks like the MH's as well. But you have switch so you could read ground speed or cylinder rpm as well as engine rpm. The 79 and latter a electronic read out rather than dial.

Would assume this could read multiply functions if you had a switch and the disc with notches and the reader.
