I have a D-15 Series I that a purchased a few years back.  Looks and drives like new.  The only thing it really needs is a tach.  There is a nice one currently installed on it, however it just doesn't work.  Is it difficult to take this out and attempt a repair or perhaps I should just replace it with a replacement one?  Any input on the effort to replace the tachometer would be greatly appreciated.

Going orange is going great!  Thanks in advance for any comments.

Are you sure the tach cable is good?   Could be an easy fix.   I had a tach cable that was bad but the sleeve for it was still good.   Took it to a speedometer shop in Milwaukee and it cost me 12 bucks for a new cable.   I have taken the tachs apart twice now and it could be a sheared off gear also.  If you had the time and another parts tach, you can make a good one out of two as long as the same parts aren't busted in both.
