Is the block in a WD the same as WD45....I need to do a little swicth'n around if it will work...

They are not the same but the parts from either will fit the other. As a matter of fact, after all the WD replacement blocks were used up A-C furnished the WD-45 blocks as factory replacements for both tractors. So...just because a particular tractor has a block with no side plate does not guarantee its a 226 C.I.D.. Of course there are lots of "sleeper" WDs out there with WD blocks and 45 innards, too. LOL

I know of a lot of people who have WD's with 45's engines in um and vice versa

Thanks for the replies...I have a 45 with a bad block and an extra WD good block..I guess I could just swap...BUT if I am getten it right ...it might be better to put the guts from the 45 into the WD block ???

Our '41 WC had a dealer installed replacement block installed back in the 50s that was the WD45 type, but it had all stock WC internals in it. Kip
