On the hundred series tractors, how many different size grills were made? Would there be any interest in some reproduction ones? I was wondering how many sizes they were and which has the most demand? Thanks Tracy ------------- No greater gift than healthy grandkids! |

| I would think the 170-175 grill has the most demand, there are at least two for 185, bar grill on the 190 and then the 200. Not sure about the two ten and twenty. |

The grill shell is same size for the 170/175 160 too I think, but about 1972 they went to the shallow one with flat face. The 180/185/190/200/210 all are the same size larger shell, but with differences like above. The early 190's with bar grill, had the bolted in bars, but the logo placement was further in the corner than a series 2 and up, and first year had the chrome emblem, so no decal pad at all on those. The series 2 190 grill would be same as a 180, and the 210 as well, until 1972. In 72 when the 200 came out, that seems to be when the grill front went to flat face/shallow screen, and the 200 had the added pleated screen, which KC Grain is having those made I believe. The 210 has the added screen on the bottom, which Luke R is making those. So in short, a series 2/3 style 190 grill shell would probably be the most common needed. A person should make it with the decal pad seperate, so it can be added to the correct location needed. It would fit 180/185/190/200/210. If someone got really crafty they could make the 72 and newer style too. A true 72 210 will have the flat front, shallow orange screen grill. Confused yet?

| Pretty sure when the old rounded edge grilles were phased out, all replacement grilles were of the flat face from A-C. |

You can buy a replacement grille that fits but is not the same as the 5040 grille, in my opinion it makes for a much better looking tractor and its already painted orange.

I would say the flat faced ones would be a decent replacement for all. The different screens could be offered as a separate peice. To make the shell cost effectively, a stamping method would be best, but the dies would be extremely expensive. Probably to the point that for the low number of grill shells sold, to recoup the cost of the tooling, the price per piece would be high enough to deter most potential buyers. There is a company making these 200 grill screens here in WI. Just as it says, screen insert is $250. IF someone was making a new grill, it would be at least $1000!
