Went by the plant and took a couple pics.  The heart of the plant is certainly gone.

The part burned was the old two story brick building, about 120 years old and the brick probably saved the rest of the additions around it. The building housed the boilers.
They had a trackhoe in and dug out the hot spots.

Wink Now we can all share the pain,Wink if this works anything like the dino juice business.

One refinery down and gas from coast to coast goes up 10 cents to a $1 a gallon.

Wink Anyone what to bet if consumer price of  cheese goes up more than farmer price of milk goes down.LOL

Don't you know there's a shortage of milk and thats why store prices are up and farmers are dumping milk

Well, somebody has a plan, sounds like they are bringing in a temporary portable boiler and working hard on new piping and just might be up and operating in a week or two.  Several other plants are taking in the milk, Some took the cheese that was in storage and will hold until it's sold.

DD, They had the fire marshal coming before the fire was even out...
No, I have not heard if they found where it started. as you can see in the pic, there isn't much left to look at other than what video was taken...
Asked about what would cause it burn so long, well, lot of others were wondering the same thing too.  One said there were lot of chemicals stored in the old building... I don't know that for a fact, thought it was stored in another section of one of the additions but since I quit milking 20+ years ago, I didn't habitat the place much since then.

As for what set the fire, It was not a super hot day like we had earlier, So it is kind of strange for it to start on a cooler day...   ( incidently, There is some suspicion that it could have been set, The board members fired the rotten scoundrel head CEO several months back... he was pulling some dirty shenanigans like using BD to buy a winery across from his farm out east.  an a hole lot of other crap too...  opps!) Ermm Confused  Lets say it like this, Since the CEO got canned,  work at the co-op was far more pleasant.  There were places around that actually had a party when they heard the news of the CEO getting canned.  Party  LOL

They should have canned him (in little pieces in a milk can).
Hopefully it won't hurt the area economy like so many other things do.
WHY are fires either on the coldest or the hottest day of the year?
