FDA says MOST of the hand sanitizer coming from Mexico contains METHANOL instead of ETHANOL.... and the labels are Marked WRONG.. If your sanitizer was packaged in Mexico-- throw it away !!! These 9 hand sanitizers may be toxic, FDA warns ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

These people are IDIOTS Steve. Sanitizer can be Ethyl alcohol(Grain distilled) or Methyl(Methanol) alcohol based, gets put ON the hands and evaporates, only toxicity is if try to drink it as the old alcoholics used to drink Mouthwash for the alcohol(Ethyl based). YEA, im not a chemist.. dont play one on TV either... Just pointing out that the FDA says it is not a GOOD idea to spread METHanole on your skin... and i agree, DONT DRINK IT ! ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

| Any and every alcohol is a solvent including those we drink, makes no difference what type is in sanitizer, the issue was mislabeling NOT the alcohol as the drunks could possibly drink the stuff and die. |

Of course it makes a difference! It also makes a difference in the label for drunks, but methanol is more toxic to your body. So you wouldn’t make a sanitizer that’s toxic and absorbs through the skin. Even if it still kills the virus. |

You guys still do not get it. The Methanol tainted alcohols(Heads and Tails) from Distilleries are NOTED as sold for these type products, unusable anywhere else, can be marketed as Grain Ethyl Alcohol but cannot be used for liquor as does contain methanol.
