Why is the pump missing? Internal engine/drive train problems?

I don't know.  I bought it form an estate and it was sitting in a shed with the pump off.  It is probablly sitting on a shelf at a pump shop somewhere?  The enigine will turn over.

Do you know if this tractor needs anything else beside the pump to be able to work? I am looking for a diesel tractor this size to replace a Ford 640 I sold off recently. It would be used for raking/tedding and planting jobs mainly.
