| Re storing a WD and trying to remove rear wheels to paint rims. Can’t seem to find the right socket to loosen eccentrics. Is this a special socket.The bolts don’t seem to be chewed up from previous removal. The bolts have a stamp on them like small pin holes. Thanks |

If you want to paint the rims you will need to take the wheel apart. the easiest way is to lay the tire down. Remove the 8 bolts holding the eccentrics to the rim and then give the center a couple good wacks with a sledge onto a chunk of wood. The eccentrics require a six sided socket. I can't recall the size but it is a standard SAE size. ------------- D14, D17, 5020, 612H, CASE 446 |

3/4" fits tight. I always use a 6 point 3/4" drive impact socket. Sometimes you have to tap it to get it on. |

Huolti, Welcome and we need some pictures! Those excentrics can be from bad to worse! I have taken apart and loosened maybe 50 of them. I would do as others have said. If you havent already. Remove the wheel/ tire assembly from the tractor (8 lug bolts) Lay the tire down with the center facing up. Take out the 8 bolts that hold the eccentric castings to the center rim. Gentle tap out the center rim with one of these. (my suggestion would be the 16 lb on the right):)  Then you will have all the parts loose and you can clamp the eccentrics down and start to work on getting them loose again. Broken off studs. Well yes that can be a real issue too. I fought with one for half a day. I won. Heat, drill, easy out, (they never work) more heat, vice grips, more drilling, ...... re- tap. Good as new!
