I have the hardest time going from park to say third. I may have to push clutch in 3 or more times before it will go in. In the picture, is this the lever to adjust it. I can't seem to find that adjustment in the manual.

I'm pretty sure all maroon bellies have a dry clutch, so no trans brake. Trans brake came with black belly and t-handle shifter. That's on a 7000.

All the maroon belly 7000 tractors did use a dry clutch, but they also have a transmission brake and an adjustment rod like what is shown in that picture. I don't remember the compressed length of the spring,but that is where you adjust it. I have had to replace the brake puck on some tractors.

Lynn, I was told maybe it has been set to tight not allowing it roll to a stop, for engagement. So I will back the nuts off a little and try it.

The dry clutch has nothing to do with the trans brake - im pretty sure it works off the clutch pedal and is activated at the last inch of travel on the clutch pedal

Hard shifting into a gear is common with wear...1st and 3rd gear primarily.

Reverse always was touchy from new. It like to grind to find...a wee bit anyway.

My theory is worn shifter forks. I say "theory" is because I haven't check mine to verify, but mine does that too.

It all depends on how much use on the tractor and how much gear shifting has it done?

I finally had a chance today to work on the shifting issue. I did loosen the trans brake a bit, 1/8". So long story short. I have never driven a tractor w/ a clutch brake. And have found the right way to operate it now. I did adjust the trans brake back to where I found it.
