I am working on a 175 that the power director is not releasing fully. You have to stand on the brakes to stop it with lever in Neutral. Neutral adjustment is correct and shim adjustment is correct (.080-.040-.085). Which leads me to what I think is the problem: With the clutch in N, the plates in high range are not free, like there is still pressure on them. I observed the gap between the pressure plate and the pre-load plate to be larger on the high side than on the low side. So I thought the snap ring that holds the 2 plates together (with the pressure washer in the middle) had come out or was missing. Now that I have the clutch apart, the snap ring is still in place but it appears the pressure plate from the high side is .073" thicker than the pressure plate from the low side. The parts book shows both pressure plates to be the same #228067? Is this a mistake at the factory and I should replace with a matching plate or is this proper for the 175?

ON LEFT IS LOW SIDE PRESSURE ASSEMBLY---ON RIGHT IS HIGH SIDE PRESSURE ASSEMBLY

Looks to me like the snap ring groove is cut in the wrong place. All parts are to be the same and they ain't.

This is what I found:

NOS correct plate on Left---Problem plate from clutch on right

Appears to have an extra groove cut! But it really is 2 peices that separated! I stuck a screwdriver in the "groove" and they came apart??? With the pressure washer forcing the 2 halves apart, I wonder why would it be a 2-peice?

2 piece I do believe is an aftermarket replacement. 1 piece is OEM AGCO. Ran into this on a D15 I was working on. I think AI Products makes the 2 pieces aftermarket replacement
