Hey all,

The hydraulics on my C won't lift over about 50 pounds.  If I grab the hose, I can feel the pistons pumping fluid, but it just has no power at all.  I've attempted a rebuild twice, but haven't had any success.

I've read through the step by step process in the Service Manual, but I'm having trouble with removing the suction valves.  These appear to be threaded, but I can't find any bolts in my stash that fit more than two or three threads.  I assume there is a tool to pull these out?  The book says a puller, but not sure what it's referring to.

Has anyone performed a rebuild on a hydraulic pump on an early C?

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
Josh

When we sold them the B-C hydraulic pump was almost bulletproof.  I really don't remember having to work on them.
I have my father's Knowledge is Power book.  It has a section on B-C hyd pumps.  If you send me your e-mail address by private message I could scan the significant pages and e-mail them to you.  Might help.
Can't have my favorite's - the B's - brother not working right.
Good Luck!
