Times do change,,,altho I always wonder if and even why,,,,
This year we have got more rain then I can ever remember,,,I'm nor sure what the total is so far but do know it a lot. The weeds continue to keep everybody bust tryin to beat em back  AND they are different weeds from what we have seen around here. They grow FAST and never mind that you mow em or weed eater em,,,they keep comin back!!  What makes this odd is that the new weeds are even chokin the goat heads out,,!!Clap
Also, sometime back, I got stung by something and am pretty sure it was one of them "new" friggin wasps we have started to see many of, where I had not seen before. We've always had a few yellow jackets but these are kinda light yellow and Brown. I've been having to spot a jug of Home Defense in a couple of places as they are some aggressive. I keep lookin for their hive but no luck yet. When I DO,,,,it'll be a coffee can of gasoline after dark should do the trick!! I did manage to hit one yesterday with a good spray from a carburator cleaner can,,,but thet sob just flew off,,!!??
Another "new" insect in the last 2-3 months is what looks like a BIG, BIG mosquito,,,there are lots of them flying around ,,altho, they do not try to bite and always fly real close to the ground. I been trying to kill one to get a closer look but ain't managed to do so yet,

That would be what's comanly referred to as a mosquito hawk. It's really a crane fly they are harmless an die off in a couple days. They consume flower nectar and have no mouth biting parts.

We got a LOT more water back here in 2016, but this year is right up there.
Dave's right on that mosquito hawk, we've got em up here too.
Those bees might be in ground.  You won't find their nest, cause there's just a 3/8" or smaller hole in the ground.  If you get to watch one sometime, and you're close to the nest hole, you might get to watch it go in.  Gas won't even help you at that point, I've tried.  I did put a chunk of garden hose on the tractor and put it over the hole and let it run for a while, but I don't know if it helped or not.
Hope you get em though, they are nasty ba$t$#&#s!!
