My series II SC D15 is giving me fits. Last year I thought the traction booster was stuck, wasn't sure. You couldn't plow with it, it would raise all the time. Couldn't adjust it to lower correctly. Even pulling disc it would raise it. Now if you start it, the lift raised and won't lower at all. Lever has no effect, lift lower or traction booster lever. It sounds like pump is working and won't shut off. Hopefully it will leak down enough I can unhook the plow. What would be causing this? Any help appreciated. | Is a 3pt or SC ? Linkage needs freed up or more tension on torsion spring. Torsion bar if 3pt. MACK |

Mack, it is a snap coupler.This tractor worked great for several years. I don't use it much. Just started doing this on its own. What would make the lift all of a sudden just pick up as soon as tractor starts. Even with lift lever down? Why does both levers have no effect now? | If all external linkage is free and adjusted properly, spool valve in pump could be stuck or linkage inside unhooked. MACK |

| Not too common. Remove linkage from pump cover, remove cover ( screw a bolt in threaded hole in front of cover to brake loose), compress spring along side of pump and install nail in hole of spring shaft. Remove cotter key and spring assembly. Get lift arms down if possible. Remove lube line, remove 3 bolts holding pump in. With a pry bar, pry pump loose. When it comes free, it will drop like a rock. Disassemble pump and clean. MACK |

hmmm, I'm wondering if in Mack's list of instructions, shouldn't the first thing to do is drain the oil ? Assuming the D15 is the same as D14 , it'll make a mess of the floor...... just thought I'd ask... I know some things are obvious...but sometimes we get 'focused' and ,um, well, kinda...oopsy..... Jay, you certainly seem to have some interesting adventures!! I left all three drain plugs out of the CA when I was working on its hydraulics to give it plenty of time to drain. I hung a big sign on it that said "NO OIL, NO PLUGS" to remind me to replace the plugs and add oil! Happily that worked. ------------- WC, CA, D14, WD45 |
