CA final drive hand clutch question, "Approximately 0.020" of clearance when the assembled clutch is compressed". To be clear, where is this measurement taken? Clutch facing to primary disk, is my assumption. Sorry, seem to be having a tough time figuring this out! Thank you.

When we put in our first hand clutch back in the 50's tried it with the brakes on and it slipped.  Found out there was a gap.  We took it off and ground 1/8" off the three ears that held the clutch together and put it back together.  Worked.  Thereafter when we replaced a hand clutch we habitually ground 1/8" off the ears.  Never had a problem.  Course we not only replaced the clutch we replaced the springs and balls too.
Go to the Knowledge page and you will find an excellent post on replacing a CA hand clutch.
Take good care of the CA.  It is a "neat" unit.  Really nice light two plow tractor.
Good Luck!
