Here in Maryland we have taken all kinds of steps to adjust to the coronavirus situation. Schools closed, restaurants closed except for carry out, bars closed, local transportation system adjusted for less traffic, stores crowded and some shelves empty, Church closed, older people - like me - told to stay home, many people are forced to stay home, are about all I can think of now. I know there are more things that have happened. Wondering, since we represent a lot of area in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and some in Asia, what steps are you required to take to meet this emergency. In any event wish all my fellow forum members the very best. Good Luck! Bill Long

Me and mom have not been out of the house for a week and a half now. Got lots of tea makings and food previously put up, plenty of TP. We are good for at least a month and a half or better. Just hope neither of us goes into Afib, that's our Achilles heel for now. Just need the gas, electric, and water to stay on till it's warmer up here. Hope you all fare well too.

Dixie has not been out of the house for two weeks. She signed up for meals on wheels for last week so one good meal is brought in mid day each day. With a little something late afternoon we are good at our age sitting around. I am ready to start my 4th week in physical therapy Tues. and Thurs. I did stop in at Rural King at Angola Indiana for feed last Thursday. No cases identified in Steuben County Indiana yet. The hospital where I get physical therapy wipes every thing any one touches. I think I am safe there. The emergency rooms are at the other end of the building with different entrances. They say I need to continue the therapy as it is an extension of the surgery. For Walmart and Meijer's we can buy on line and they load it in our car. We have done both once three weeks ago.

Same here in Iowa. Watching a lot of the old tele these days. I am wondering about the younger set. How many new arrivals will there be nine months from now? As for me, I got me a good old fashioned cold. Coughing and hacking up crud out of the lungs. No fever. Just a good old fashioned cold,,,,,, so far.

PA is just about under Marshal Law. State police are to enforce the business shut down. We have two confirmed cases in our county. Same one car has gone up and down the road several times today. Scary quite! Cold today so we are inside. If it warms I have plenty to do outside. Maple tubing needs to come down next week. Then yard work can start and I have things to do at our tractor show grounds. Regards, Chris

Our life hasn't changed much. We only left the farm to go to town one day a week and out to dinner one weekend night. We stay at home and eat now and the trip to town is just grocery . I have plenty to work on in the shop. Changed the motor in riding lawnmower last week and changed a transmission line 3 times till I got a good one on the truck. Mower parts and transmission lines came from Rock Auto and Amazon on line. Working on some fences and going to cut, split and stack some wood this week and train on a horse or two. I did cancel a hog hunt in Texas on a buddies lease , as we didn't know if they might do a lockdown or shut down access to fuel. It was a week out. Didn't consider myself elderly till they told on tv this week. LOL . We have plenty of beef, pork and venison in the freezer and a big pantry that we always keep at least 2 weeks of goods in. Even have plenty of TP and more in the 5th wheel.

Here in Illinois we are locked down pretty good. I just delivered 6 pounds of meat to my folks last night so they can avoid going out as much as possible. Was hoping to work on the tractors, but am bunkered in with my better half closer to my work and have set up a work from home spot. Made 3 trips to work to get stuff before the 5PM deadline today. Roads are getting quieter. Whole factory was shut down when I was there. Try to shop for groceries at off peak hours (9AM, 3PM) and avoid people as much as possible.

Up here in northern MN about the same as the rest of you, I am thankful for my shop, no tractor work for now but I have been building a flywheel engine this winter. Wife still is on the local F>D> as an EMT. Sure hope they don't get a corona virus related call as that could end up doing me in if I get it.

We have pretty much the same things going on here in middle Tennessee. The big surprise is the factories shutting down. Us at Bridgestone, the Nissan plant in Smyrna, TN, and Volkswagon in Chattanooga. Things must be bad if these big companies are willing to give up a few bucks.
My mother was complaining because my sister wouldn't take her to town. I told her I would take her Monday. That seemed to please her. Then my wife told me that taking my 85 year old mother to town was not using common sense. Perhaps she's right, now I don't know if I should take her or not.

Here in Ithaca, it feels like the calm before the storm. Hospital has cancelled all elective surgeries. Since I am with the hospital, my dental office is pretty much the only one open in the county so I am busier than I should be. No one is paying bills and I don't blame them but I want to make sure staff get's paid. Got one single mom who works for me and a couple other with husbands who got laid off so payroll first and everyone else will have to wait. Upstate I don't think will get hit hard but the city could get bad. Cuomo says the city has 1/3 the ventilators it needs but there is no way he has the md's needed to run them.

Hi to all my fellow Allis mates. We are going pretty well here in Australia. We are not really in lock down still able to go and get supplies from most businesses. They have cancelled many events including a large rally we have at Easter at the largest ag musuem in the Southern Hemisphere (Wheatlands) at Warracknabeal. Was a shame as I had a CASE 600 header ready to harvest some wheat for the CASE feature this year. All outdoor events of 500+ people have been cancelled and 100+ people indoors. Most businesses are still open as for us farmers we are gearing up for planting our crops so we need chemical, fert & seed etc. Trying to stay at home as best we can. We have stocked up on food supplies a few weeks back however some people have been going crazy stripping shelves bare. Schools are still open as they are worried that to many health care workers will be forced to stay at home if schools close. They say kids are immune to it so are not to worried. Going to get stuck into my Gleaner Model C and XT190 I recently got from an estate. Both have been sitting in a shed for 30+ years so need a full service. Take care and stay safe. Cheers Richard

I am in NY State right on the Canadian border (5 miles to Quebec - 12 miles to Ontario) which is closed. This is tough for us since one of my daughters and her family live in Quebec (about 15 miles from us). We don't know when we will see them next.
NY States confirmed cases have been rising rapidly, almost doubling daily. A lot of that rise is due to increasing testing. Our county (Franklin County) has no confirmed cases yet, nor does an adjoining county, St. Lawrence, which is where the June 12-14 GOTO will be. Three other adjoining counties have had a few (all under 5) confirmed cases.
On a personal note, our court is closed, so I am off most of the time(except for scattered necessary proceedings) . One of our clerks is working part-time.
My wife, who is the Nurse Administrator at a local state maximum security prison, was planning to retire in June. She has a bunch of unused accrued time to use up and was planning for April 3 to be her last work day. That is all out the window now.
Stay safe everyone and PLEASE follow the recommendations (or mandates) about this pandemic !

Last fall, I bought an abandoned warehouse (60' x 72'), close to my house, for tractor (and other stuff) storage. There are a bunch of box elder trees that have shot up on the property. They vary from about 30" on the stump to small stuff. Yesterday, I went down and dropped three of them and cut them up into manageable size lengths. I only have about 100 to go !
I discovered I'm not 20 any more ! I told my wife last night that the fingernail on my little finger was the only part of my body that didn't hurt !!!

I’m a carpenter working for a pharmacy- doing home modifications so handicapped and elderly can more easily stay in their homes! In Nebraska we have four counties-one is mine-with restriction of no more then 10 people together. We are working, BUT, my projects are building outdoor ramps-I know of 4! Problem is it’s raining! I’ve been 8 hours short each week for 2 weeks now, not from the virus but from the Weather!

Massachusetts isn't on mandatory lockdown...yet. State of emergency has been declared. Stores (many of them) are closed. All unnecessary surgeries and doc appts cancelled. Gatherings of more than 10 are not supposed to happen. Church services and meetings are happening online. Schools are closed. Colleges and universities have sent students home. Social distancing and similar recommendations in effect. Grocery stores getting hammered by shoppers who were buying with the blizzard mentality....that seems to have slowed down. Very little traffic on the roads. Appears that most people are doing what the governor has asked - some exceptions last weekend....hopefully those people have smartened up.
Please everyone do what's being asked. By the time you can count infections in your county or town, those people will have infected others with whom they've been in contact. And, like it or not, most of us are in the high risk group.

Bill, I guise I won't be stopping in to see you anytime soon. My brother closed the doors Friday at Wertz. I think he is going to try to have someone there to answer the phone and put parts out for clients that need to go. But since it is now an " outdoor power equipment business' it is not under the Ag exempt of the Governors order. Other then having colds we are all doing well. Hope you stay healthy.

Southern Ontario locked down like the rest of you, local hospital where my sons girl friend is a nurse is having 50 nurses tested and may have been exposed to the virus- not good My Dad had a stroke on Friday the 13th and is a local rehab hospital trying to recover and with the lockdown we can't go see him or help him..that is the worst feeling - just helpless.. Tough to see his D14 in the shop..his skid steer needs some fixing so my son and I will try to tackle that - keep us busy for a while waiting for him to come home to play with it again.

My 18 year old daughter is upset as she is supposed to graduate this year and it's her last year for Track and FFA. Her last day was Monday and I doubt they will reopen this school year. She came home in tears that last day of school. Also she and my oldest daughter work at a grocery store so I'm worried because they are exposed to so many people all going crazy in the store. Friday was the worst they had seen with almost each day for the past week and a half setting a new record sales day only to be broken again the next day. Yesterday was a slight let up and they are always closed on Sunday which is nice.

People are stuck at home and using their plumbing a lot more than they were before . Any problem that they have been putting off is now much more serious . Friends tell me I need to stay home but loyal customers need my services . A nurse I know has supplied me with good facemasks and I have a stockpile of nitrile gloves . Trying to only run emergency calls , but everything is an emergency now. Customers are a mixed bag ,some don't seem to care and tell me to take the gloves and mask off . Others are spraying me down with bleach and spraying everything in my wake . I replaced a water heater the other day and I never saw the customer . She would yell down to the basement and then she left the check in the garage . Trying to be careful but keep thinking that running these service calls I am putting myself and customers at risk . Hard to judge weighing risk , spreading virus verse leaving someone with sewage in their home , no hot water , toilet not working . Where do you draw the line .Wholesale houses set parts outside and require 10 foot separation from employees .They may shut down this week , will see what Monday brings. As long as Lowes and Menards stay open I will keep working as when parts are done so am I .
Hell of a world we are living in . Arguments with friends over freedom vs public safety . I have always sided with freedom and will continue to but common sense tells us to listen to the experts . Problem today is who do you listen to ?
Be safe everyone and look out for your friends and family .God Bless

I live a quarantine life normally it would seem lol! I work by myself, and the ups/fedex/speedee guys just leave boxes just inside the door. As long as they and the postal service stay open, I should be able to operate my business as usual. Now, we can't go do lunch on fridays, or other things, but I can still do my work, and stil have plenty of it sitting here. Our state went on a lockdown yesterday at 5pm. I work on injection pumps for farm tractors, so since ag is an essential I should still be ok to work. I have no idea why anyone would prohibit me from going to my isolated shop lol! I am trying to maintain distance on the rare occasion a customer does come to pick up their pump, injectors, or turbo. I do a few pulling pumps too, but have to push those back some since the pulling may not happen this year. I have to prioritize the tractors that go to the field.

Well,---here in Illinois, our fat ass governor is showing his true colors AGAIN ! As for me,---I am going where I want, when I want and doing what I want ---he can stick his orders where the sun dont shine. Everybody around is going about their business as usual. I need more diapers and guess what ---there aint none! guess I shoulda horded! I always ordered them from Sams and they came by Fed-Ex , NOW Sams says not available on the internet. WTF!!! ----So they wont send any and I'm not sure the store is even open,---probably none on the shelf anyway so a wasted 40 mile trip! ---called around and nobody has any!
Whut the hell would regular people want these for? ---I have to use them due to the prostate surgery and bladder is not working at all!
Now, one doc. wants to do butt test for colon cancer!!!---THAT aint gonna happen in this lifetime!----got suckered into this prostate thing and not gonna go that route again!
Rant over--- Thanks for reading!

My dad had a big battle over prostate surgery vs medication. India doctor wouldn't do anything for him..... what a beech! Medications were making him sick, had to cath for 3 years suffering infection and infection and falling down from medications. Had a stent put in his leg a year ago for poor blood flow and scheduled for the other leg but he almost didn't see green grass last Spring. Took him to ER and the doc there within 2 hours knew what was wrong..... low hemoglobin down to 4.5. Four units of blood later and he could feel his legs warming.... actually after the second unit.... Finally got good docs on everything, no stent was ever needed and awhile later they did an out patient prostate surgery that worked wonderfully. That day of surgery, afterwards, he told the nurse it was the first time he was able to use the can normally in 3 years! So a bad doc can string you along for years on bad meds and unneeded procedures and misdiagnosis that almost kills a person! And a good doc can bring you back from certain death within hours! It was the ER doc who was the very best!

I am just trying to stay away from people and avoid my folks until this passes (other than the 6 pounds of meat I took them Friday). I am working remotely and my better half is an essential worker so she goes in every day. Just playing it day by day, but mostly staying indoors, even though there's plenty of outdoor projects to do. At least it is snowing today. No reason to go out. Stores are a zoo here in IL lately, as every couple of days the clamp down is more serious. We've got 6 confirmed cases in our county here so far I think.

We in W.Tn and Ky. are hunkered down obeying the 10 person thing. I have a female key employee who is fearful of a husband who is had immunity issues as does my father in law. Business has been good, really good, so far this month. We have big orders for parts to rebuild combines and discs. We moved out I think 12 new and use units this week including 2 bushhog z turns. I have no idea as to what the future will bring... but keep the faith - just thank the Lord we are not in the businesses who are shut down like the restaurants. I hope there is a quick econ assistant on the way asap without the partisan bickering. A local franchise restaurant who is family owned and mostly operated just did a major makeover and is "the" place to eat in our rural area... he is a great guy who helps out the university ball team meals etc... I know this is a gut blow to someone who did absolutely nothing to deserve this.

I work at a truck stop so I have been deemed as an essential employee. No cases yet in my county but I am washing hands and sanitizing more than I ever had. My wife has stayed in and I do all the errands. We are set because we process all our own meat and just put a beef in the freezer.

I am thankful to still have my job, so many are unemployed because of the Chinese born virus. I am a systems tech for my company. We are now carrying paperwork with us in case it goes code red locally. It allows us to travel to and from work. We are working hard to make sure the internet, cell service, and landlines stay online during this critical time. New service orders are screened as well as trouble reports for our safety. Luckily I work mainly with just 1 co-worker and we have been doing projects with very little public interaction. All is good so far. Thankfully I have the farm to help keep my mind off the world troubles. Cows have to be fed and a lot of projects need to be done before hay season begins. Praying for this to all end and for everyone to stay safe and virus free. Take care everyone.

Coronavirus Pandemic, day 16. If anyone is still out there, I’m alive but struggling. Food is running low. Down to only 459 days worth. My hands are super sanitized and my butt is super clean. Down to 15993 rounds of ammo (dropped 1 round down the heat vent while doing daily inventory). Power still on, but for how long? Missing human interaction but I have my dogs.. for now.. (I'm soaking their food in BBQ sauce in an attempt to marinate them from the inside in case I have to eat them) . I fear dark days ahead. News is all bad. Neighbors have attempted to leap from windows to their death, (or near death... most have single story homes so they are badly bruised). Blew through most Netflix series so may have to rewatch some again..Basic Survival is a definite challenge. I vow to persevere to the end, I am a survivor! Please, if there is life out there, communicate with me to help preserve my sanity..

We live in a gated community here in Mesa. 2600 homes with probably 30% owned by Canadians who have already headed for home. Guess most of them got the word from their insurance companies that they are not covered if they get the virus here in the US. Management made the decision 10 days ago to shut down all amenities except golf and tennis. For me that means the pool room and wood shop are closed which isn't a major blow for me as I have my shop in the garage where I normally spend four or five hours a day building AC models. We are not Mormon, but we seem to always have six months of food in supply so we are good there. Shelves in WalMart and Winco are somewhat bare. Needed milk last week and had to go to two stores before I found a gallon. Had a fishing trip planned to Mexico last week, but cancelled going as it might be a PITA to get back if the government decided to close the border. Setting five or six hours in line to cross isn't my idea of a good time. We'll all get through this, but I hope it ends sooner that later. Stay healthy!!!! Armand

Yesterday, Jean and I got in the car to drive around. Did not want the car to sit too long battery would go down. In fact when pushed the start button was reminded of low battery. We drove around our neighborhood in Bel Air, MD Interesting. Grocery Stores had cars out front, Macy's and Kohl's had empty lots. Drove by Best Buy and saw some yellow jacketed people roaming the parking lot. Stopped by one and was told they were delivering items that had been called in to the store for pick up. Gas $ 1.99 -really low for Maryland. Shopping centers empty - course they are closed except for food stores that have outdoor access for carry out. Dick L hang in there. I was delighted to hear of various responses from around the world. Interesting how we all are required and are handling the situation. Good thoughts and prayers to you all during this most unusual time. Always say this but never meant it more. Good Luck! Bill Long

Stay safe Bill! We are still down in southern Utah, we were planning on heading back to Spokane in a few days but may delay that as things are better down here. Unfortunately all my projects are in Spokane, but we have done our share of hiking on the beautiful trails around here. Yesterday we hiked into an old mining area 12 miles north of here. BLM has suspended fees for the time being, so more people are enjoying the great outdoors. Did some research this morning and came up with some interesting info. Lots of history resources on the net!

I have a pair of gates across the only entrance onto the property; I hadn't thought about it before, but I guess I live in a gated community as well.
My mother lived in a gated community for several years; it was sort of amusing; open rusty gates on rotted posts at the steep gravel entrance, steep narrow gravel and mud pot-holed roads between the constantly falling trees, little old ratty-looking rundown houses everywhere with the most peculiar people living in them, a big swimming pool taken over by frogs and a big recreation hall with plywood over the windows. Since it was a "gated community", the county would not maintain the pitiful roads.
Worse rundown homes just outside the community will sell quicker and for more money on account of having access to county water and county road maintenance.

I think this whole virus thing is being blown way out of proportion. I work on a US military base and it is pretty much business as usual. The only change In have noticed is that the guards at the gate now have you hold your military ID so they can scan it rather than you handing it to them. Not much traffic on the way to work though so i guess everyone else is staying home.

I realize that the lockdown and school cancellations are difficult on the graduating seniors, and they will miss out on an important part of their youth with proms and graduation ceremonies. I saw something that puts it into a bit of perspective. Those seniors graduating between 1964 and 1970 quite often got to have a senior trip to Viet Nam.

Monday Mar 23rd I had surgery on my left total knee replacement was installed July 24th 2018. I did something, found out Jan 24th that it was loose after ex-rays. I had fluid under my knee cap. After blood tests, fluid culture tests and bone scan. It was found to be infected. My only option was removal of my 2018 knee. My wife dropped me off Monday morning...I was on my own. It was scary not having her there. I was in good hands. My knee HURTS. They glue the joints in and had to chip it out. I'm home with a spacer in my knee. I have a pic line in my arm. I'm on IV antibiotic injections 3 times a day for 6 weeks. I hope people follow the rules. STAY home keep 6' away and DO NOT visit. It was scary at the hospital. Everybody gave me great care. On my floor they had only 2 patients. They had training for what is coming.

I did miss going to Gathering of the Green in Davenport last weekend (wrong color, I know). We live on 4 acres in the country. have neighbors fairly close but no issues. Wife needed to go to Walmart. It was a little busier than normal. most folks did not get close and lots of families there too. Toilet paper was gone and also all the flour. Not sure what thats about. Every one must be watching little house on the prairie where Pa went into Mankato and got flour, salt, ammo and Toilet paper! Just sayin.:)
Also grilled some sausages and a nice Venison back strap glazed with our Maple Mustard:
Was like a real nice tender fillet with some fried 'taters and onions!

Southern Alberta dodged snow falling a bit further north. Have been checking out the 5015 and belly mower the past few weeks. Took the mower out from under the tractor to check hearings which are OK. Straightened out a few dings. Someone had welded the front bumper onto the frame. Only problem with that was taking out the battery required taking off the radiator on the tractor. I've been trying to get it apart for a couple years off and on, and finally succeeded, but perforated the battery case in my enthusiasm. Acid etched the shop floor pretty quick. Currently picking through the non standard wiring trying to make it all work. At least I can stay in the shop and be mostly isolated. Stay healthy!

To answer Ed's question. Our next door neighbor here on the farm has Covid 19. He is in his late forties. The company he owns with his brother were working in a brewery in Dallas. He flew back home a few weeks ago so doesn't know where he picked up the virus. Was pretty sick at home but feeling much better now. Brewery in Dallas shut down because he was there. On top of that his Dad just moved into hospice and he can't see him. Yesterday he planned to go to the hospice and see his Dad through the window. It's real guys. Follow the rules. Day to day for me here in CT hasn't changed much. I'm in aerospace mfg and we're essential so I'm at work every day still...I spend most of my time out on the shop floor so not like I can do that from home. Wife is working from home, and luckily the kids' day care is still operating so we have coverage there. My company announced some cutbacks for later this year, layoffs and furloughs, the decrease in civil aviation is hurting us already...defense is still going strong though. One company site shut down for two weeks due to a positive employee, and Boeing's Everett/Seattle plant shutdown is really hurting some of our other businesses right now. On the plus side, with my first furlough week in May I'll have plenty of time for tractor projects!

I'm working from home as I'm on the low immunity list. My wife is off work as the restaurant is closed. So we walk the dogs at first light while the ground is still frozen. I'm at my computer at 7:30 to catch the last hours of our European customers. Usually a phone conference or three during the day with designers or customers. Quit at 5 for dinner, another walk, maybe a ride in the Ranger and send some lead downrange. Back at the computer at 8 or so to catch our Australian plant for their morning. Sauna, a glass of wine or Jack and hit the sack by 11. We are pretty well stocked up so no plans to go to town anytime soon. I was in the ER last friday for a problem and after they fixed me up, I was walking out and a guy was coming in, said he was having breathing problems. I still had the mask on they gave me when I came in, didn't wait around to hear anymore, went straight home. cheers, Creek

Just the wife and I here. Got plenty of food, just going out for prescriptions. I did place a order for some basics, flour, sugar, etc. yesterday, pick up scheduled for next Monday. Earliest appointment I could get. We are outside their delivery range. Wife might need to get an emergency dental appointment. That's the only reason Dentists can see a patient in MI. The last time I saw anything, the county I live in is second to Detroit for most cases. Probably because many work in Detroit. I haven't been doing much of anything because of the cancer thing. I did get out and get the outside water turned on and some hoses brought out and hooked up. Wifey got some of the yard cleaned up from last fall. The weather hasn't been very nice for working outside yet. I'm hoping Spring gets here soon. I did see our local groundhog out the other day. It was a sunny day so it did see it's shadow, I'm not sure what that means!

Kids are on their 3rd week out of school here. This is technically their spring break so no assignments being given out this week. Schools were right on the ball here and had approved the use of online learning before the governor even requested that all schools closed. Kids never lost a day of learning. Oldest is a senior so we are in that some boat with the rest of you that already mentioned this and yes, she has a brand new dress hanging in the closet already that she'll probably never wear now. Wife is a substitute teacher so out of work too at the same time. I work in a hospital lab in Louisville so I am still working but volume of work has declined and frankly I hope it stays that way for a while but fear it will not. We've confirmed 140+ positive cases since the beginning in our hospitals with hundreds of tests not resulted back to us yet. A lot have been treated and returned home to finish recovery. Only 1 or 2 deaths that I am aware of. 50+ employees have tested positive though and on home isolation-only 1 admitted that I've heard. Everyone please follow the guidelines so we can get past this asap!

It has worsened here considerably. Even though I am in NY State, we are 6 hours from NY City, right on the Canadian border. We are about 60 miles from Montreal and about the same from Ottawa.
As of yesterday, we have 8 cases in our small rural county (Franklin County, NY).
I had to go to our local store to get some essentials (milk and bread) a couple days ago. There were two guys, probably in their mid 20's in there. Each of them bought a bottle of soft drink!!! I told them how irresponsible they were being (in very colorful language!). After they went out the door (muttering something about what a nice guy I am , I think), the clerk told me that I just missed a mother who brought in her 3 elementary school age kids and bought BS stuff that they really didn't need.
It's people like this that are endangering all of us (especially people my age and above) and prolonging this "distancing" and us being confined to our home.

We left the land of warm weather and sunshine 14 days ago, and 48 hours latter we got home, MI. Driving our motor home. And we have stayed home, our daughter has brought us a few groceries.
