I have a 61 series 11 D 10. It is a real good little tractor and all works great except the PTO wants to keep running when it is disengauged. I can stop it by pulling the lever forward pretty tightly but who wants to ride around holding the PTO lever. When I have the bush hog on it will even make the blades spin. Is there an adjustment for this?

Pretty much how it works. Pushing back is the brake, but it does not stay locked.

Series III fixed this with a brake hold

Let it run. Turn tractor off when hooking up PTO

Leaving those clutches run partially dis-engaged will wear them out. Only dis-engage them when you need to. All other times completely engage them. Using a Brush-Hog on those tractors is asking for trouble as there is not much of a spline in the flywheel for the driveshaft to connect to. Once you stripped out those splines not only will you not be able to get it fixed, you will also be without hydraulics.

If your just cutting grass and weeds a bush hog on your tractor will be fine but like said above NO serious bush hogging even small saplings will destroy your pto and hydraulics.

with LPTO you don't need an over running clutch.

The clutches for engaging/disengaging the PTO on these run in oil. The oil swirling around in the housing will make the driven side of the clutch turn, even though it is mechanically disengaged. Series III added a PTO brake because of this.
