A local mechanic has a nice looking WD that he would like to sell.  Customer brought it in to him to fix some leaks and then just decided he wanted to sell it instead, so he asked the mechanic to try to sell it.  I know the mechanic pretty well so he asked me about selling it and I told him I would post it on here.
Here is the lowdown on it.  It is a 1949 model.  It has been recently repainted with what looks like automotive paint (good quality paint anyway).  It for the most part is a very good quality paint job, except for some minor "mistakes".  The rear rims should be silver instead of orange and the fenders are mounted backwards.  They also didn't mask the temp guage off or the oil gauge.   The rear tires look pretty new and are in good shape.   Fronts are in good shape too and are fairly new.  It runs good.  It looks to me like the oil pan is leaking a bit and a seal somewhere around the transmission (don't leak bad just enough to be annoying on a new paint job).   He is asking $1800 for it.
It is located in Oblong, Illinois.  His phone number is 618-554-7483.  Ask for Jonathon.  Or you can get a hold of me on here or my email.
Thanks
Adam

I wonder why he has the fenders on backwards? Maybe in a hurry...or not enough sleep? LOL! Or maybe the lift arms won't hit the fenders that way. Just curious,Adam. Rick

Bigfish...I'm serious about the fenders being on backwards and that maybe the lift arms shouldn't hit the fenders that way. I believe that the fenders are longer from the mounting brackets back, therefore shorter towards the front. I guess that would be one way to keep from messing them up,while lifting implements,etc.. Anyway,I guess the fellow could have just mounted them wrong by mistake though too. I was just curious, meaning were they installed that way for a reason. Everyone seems to have their own reasons for doing things a little different. Anyhow, I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers by any means. Sorry if I posted something wrongly.  Rick

Rick,
I have a pretty good feeling they were just mounted backwards on accident.  Whoever painted it knows how to paint, but I don't think they know much about AC's.

I'm just listening(subscribing to the thread) to see other comments on how the paint improved the value.

In my opinion it doesn't necessarily increase the value, but looking at the base tractor it is pretty strait.  I wish the small details were attended to as THAT might help the value, but its not my tractor.
