My 180 is needing a refresh. Probably need to split the old girl, do a full major overhaul as have NO CLUE how long it has been IF has ever been overhauled. Lots of blowby, harder to start in cool weather but pulls strong. Main question is from where to buy parts when get it down and inspected. Will mic the crank and check the bearings in it for std or under, sleeves, pistons rings cam bearings possibly oil pump and may be looking for advice on getting head inspected/valves done. Capital Diesel will be getting the nozzles to go thru, pump is less than four years on duty. |

There are several vendors, that support this forum, that sell quality parts at a reasonable cost, plus technical advice, if you run into a problem. Jim Danforth at OK Tractor is the first that comes to mind.

| Figure on new exhaust seats (hard seats) new intake and exhaust valves and all new valve guides, resurface the head and do all this after it passes a magnaflux crack test. |

Mechanic with 35-40 years experience did my 8050 it made it 3 hours after overhaul and blew its head gasket. Put a Agco head gasket in and he noticed the Agco looked noticeably better. | Well,parts and a head gasket do not go in the same catagory to me. When you said trouble with parts I thought you meant cracked piston or sleeve or valve issues. Hard parts was my concern. |

| As noted in the comments decided to call our local AGCO dealer, he has access to many parted out old Allis 301s if need hard parts, uses a local machine shop for head work with good results, and can supply AGCO basic rebuild kit out for around $1200 +/- dependent of bearings and he can get std/.010/.015s, cam bushings and aftermarket cams are available. He also has nozzle rebuild service equipment in house so guess will be going down that road when done with the 7G, |
