I have a 56 AC CA that has a 6 volt generator that was converted to 12 volt. It works ok but its putting out 18 volts instead of around 14 volts. Is there anything I can put in line (generator to amp gauge) to cut the voltage down to 14 volts?

It has a universal cut out on it which is new. No adjustment.

Yes a correct Regulator . take  generator back  to that shop and have them match one up .

it would not be uncommon for the generator to put out 18 volts or more without a REGULATOR to control it.  I use to go to Auto Zone and just get on for a  1968 chevy pickup ..... pretty standard.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.
