Still making time to get this fixed and figure out why it makes so much noise going down the road. The big gear in the outer housing is movable by hand,, that is I can wiggle somewhat. Is that supposed to be tight on there? The wear pattern on the teeth looks very even..

The general consesus is [ I owned a noisy one ] the D-15's had the "growl"/ noisy rear-ends. I alway's thought the noise was coming from bull-gears in finals, but was never able to verify that. Some experienced AC people have said it was R+P in rear-end. Funny thing is D-14 owners don't seem to complain about noise. I thought for sure that D-15 R+P was different than D-14, but not 100% sure on that.

My D-10 is noisy and seems to have a fair amount of slop. I have been thinking about taking it apart to check it out. Or should I just let it go?

My D14 is noisy, but I know that my left hand final is tired.  I really need to tear it down and fix it, and the brakes, and the leaks, and the transmission end play, and the........
