Why is Allis-Chalmers suddenly  the "hot" topic?  First, AGCO does the dunderhead decision and says they are going to stop manufacturing orange tractors and convert everyone to either yellow or red.  Then Last week, Allis-Chalmers Energy is sold to Seawell, effectively eliminating the A-C name from existence.  Then a boat load of law firms have started lawsuits against A-C officers and directors for violations of fiduciary responsbilities.  Now, today the city of La Porte Indiana awarded "millions" of dollars from former insurance companies that A-C paid premiums into to clean up the old A-C site.  What's up with all of this?

In the mean time going orange is still going great, but why all the bad news?  Any thoughts or insights?

I think the reason is Allis Chalmers will be gone by the end of the year, who ever has lawsuits, etc had better get the business done by then cause it will be more headaches to go thru Seawell, Im guessin here, even though ALLIS CHALMERS is now AC ENERGY  it may still be liable cause all they did was change the name ; this is terrible, I always thought the company could be rebuilt and be as big as before - with better business sence ; but Im thinking its gone

Old girls is going out with as big a bang as she can.  I guarantee this though that someone will by the name.  I just hope it's NOT AGCO cause they'll kill it and I hope it's NOT some cheapo Chinese company that wants to put the name on things.

Byron, I truly hope you're right. I wish that some AMERICAN company would buy it and start back making AMERICAN farm equipment again. Not  american companies that get 90% of their parts from foreign countries either. 100% American-made from American materials and sold by Americans to Americans (other countries could buy some too I guess.LOL!) But I don't want to see stuff imported. I want to see stuff we make exported. Sorry for the ramble.

No need to apologise for a good ramble. LOL! But I think I speak for everyone when I say that we don't want Allis-Chalmers to make a comeback like MTD's Bolens brand did.

I tried to contact Briggs & Stratton since they currently have a license agreement with the A-C riding lawn mowers.  "Briggs & Stratton has no comment on the recent A-C proposed sale".

ASSCO LOL!! But seriously I think it could be done just how much would each member have to chip in? If we could get the name we would have to do something with it even if it is something weird like Allis-Chalmers toilet paper.
