I make sleaves for 226 for 4.600 bore. They r used john deer 466 sleaves. The demesion r. Top flange is .185 Outside of flange is 4.970 The barrel is 4.880 Bottom is 4.820 O-ring on top of sleave is .015, can get without o-ring. Inside bore is 4.560 The inside will have to b bored. U will have to bore block to fit sleave. $90.00 per sleave. Call or text or pm with questions. Sorry about all the pics, not technically savvy Rob 608 228 4843.

Rob, Is this sleeve intended to seal the bottom of the block with o rings or are pullers using some other type of material in the blocks?? It looks like a good option to gain more cubic inches. Any recommendations as to the pistons that could be used in these sleeves? Not being a serious puller I have more questions than answers.

Chris they r not o-ringed, I use a high temp epoxy on the bottom of sleave. Some use right stuff silicone. The ring on top is to seal compression with using a copper head gasket. I use bbc flat top pistons 4.600 bore with a 1.270 compression height. 8 inch rods, 6 inch crank.

Ever bore in to the main oil galley at 4.820 at the bottom?

There is no main oil galley. The camshaft is hollow and it is the main artery for getting oil from the center of the block to each end.

So that combo would be 399 cubes. That must make a WD series tractor turn the tires pretty well! Looks like the pistons are in the $100 each range. I didnt check on 8 inch rods. are those Chevy also? Thanks for the information on sealing the sleeves also. Don't think I am ever going to go this route but always good to learn a little too. I assume there some folks running these higher hp engines and being competitive too? Regards, Chris

I run a 37 wc, 18.4 x 34 tires. It runs good.

I run 3500 to 5000 lb. classes. 4 to 6 mph.I also run 15 x 5 38.tires depending on were im pulling and rules. It pulls best in 4000 and above. It's a fun tractor.

Im guessing they r, they r out of a john deer 466 motor. I've been using them along time with 11.5 to compression. They r hard to turn.

I usually keep them at 4.600. It's do able but it will get thin. If u don't do anything with air flow , cam, carb, dialing in cam and cam grind head work the extra cubes won't do much.I have a real good cam grind that works good with big cubes.

I have no idea what kind of power (HP) they make. I have a basic "stock" 226 puller putting out 60 HP or so.
