This shelving is going in a feed store. 16' long x 7' tall x 2' wide. It's to big for my powder coating oven, so I have to send it out for that. Next up is the same design, but app 24' long. The feed store has been around for 50+ years, but up to one year ago, their retail space was app 400sqft. Two stalls in a 50+ year old barn. Then they build a new building with app 3000sqft of retail space and I have been building all the shelving for them.  |

Nice work! Are they integrating lighting into the underside of the upper shelf? ------------- Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest. |

Why Powder coat instead of enamel paint ? Cost ? ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

| i'm with Steve on this, i'd sure spray paint them before doing any powder coating. powder coating isn't worth a dang in our part of the country. |

Dave, yes they will put some LED's under the top shelves. John, In the old place, 5 people and one would have to wait outside. In the new place, they now have 5+ people each waiting in 2-3 lines to order/pay. One week in Nov, in the first three days, they sold more, than they had ever sold in a full week in over the 50+ years they have been open. Old school, one family own type of place. S & S, If done half way right, powder coat will last 2-3 times longer than spray on paint. Once you buy the right equipment, for 10-15 times what a top of the line spray gun cost, your cost per item is 1/2 to 1/3 what it is to spray paint. My to small oven cost over $5000 new now. The guns I use cost over $1200 each. If I need to, I can bake a item, pull it out of the oven, run water over it to cool it down and it is ready to use. Plus, I can powder coat 4-5 times as many items in a hour, than I can spray paint. |
