It acts like the stubby shift lever back under the cover where you check trans and hyd oil doesn't move far enough to the right to easily slide into reverse. When shifting I have to nudge that little lever to the right with my foot then it shifts easily. I've owned this tractor for 2 or 3 years and it's been like that since I bought it.
If I remove the long cover over the shift linkage, that allows the long shift lever more travel and then it shifts without problem. Was thinking tonight maybe it's dry in the socket?
I could video this if needed.

With the cover off rock the shifter left to right and back watch the joints you’ll figure out where the slack is , my bolts were wore all I needed was new bolts
------------- You can wash the dirt off the body but you can’t wash the farmer out of the heart and soul

Tighten each of the yoke bolts until they are too tight and then back them off until it shifts easy. Oil each joint too.
