NOT A SERIES 2  !!    Oil bath air cleaner is the first thing that says series one.

If I'm not mistaken Grandpa used a 14 engine because he bought it as a roller

Not sure if that means is has had a D-14 engine installed into an old D-15 chassis ?? Nevertheless, that chassis isn't a series 2. It should have headlites on the fenders, an oval muffler and a dry type air cleaner. That tractor has none of that.

Early D-15 - 1960 to 1962. Has a D-15 Hand Clutch Lever.

Well the more I'm on here the more I'm learning that this thing is a mutt. You will have to forgive me I was 8 years old when grandpa got this tractor.

and what year would that be ?

Getting the Tractor Serial Number from the left side of the Torque Tube would help identify the year.

I finally got a chance to look at the tractor. Serial is 4264 which would make it a 1961 if I'm reading the chart correctly. My grandpa bought this tractor in the fall of 97 and spent that winter painting and getting the engine in.

That's very true!! I remember helping him paint and put it all together. There is a picture somewhere of me sitting in the engine bay as the "engine" and my little brother "driving". It is just time for it to help someone else make lots of memories.
