I made a drawing for a clutch alignment tool for WD clutches et al. Most of the dimensions are somewhat arbitrary. The only ones that really matter are the pilot and spline diameters and maybe the pilot length. I measured two clutch plates and the I.D. of the spline is about 1.022". The pilot bearing I.D. is 0.984" (25mm). I show the tool being made from 1-1/4" round bar because that's a common size. I actually made mine from 1-1/8" O.D. 5/8" I.D. steel tubing because I had it available and it was less material to remove in the lathe. I also got a little fancy and welded a 5/8" nut to the back and made a T handle, but it really wasn't necessary. A guy probably could get away with just using 1" round stock for the spline diameter, but the fit wouldn't be quite as good.

Aaron,
Good design and build on the clutch alignment tool. That will make the installation go much better!

 Chris

There I went and thought I had did something great when I used a deep well socket over the use of a broom handle.   Just teasing you Aaron. It looks great!👍👍

I cut the splined end off a junk input shaft, works good!

I use a junk input shaft too.  I think DJS Parts sells a plastic alignment tool for $10 or so.  If I had a lathe, I'd probably turn yours just for the fun of it though.

Did similar for T limiter in 8070. Pilots in back of crank(no brg). Lets you get it together before the "burnish" to true it.
