Recommended for front wheel bearings... What about corn head grease instead?
Getting to be time to do them in my A-C 6140. Manual calls for "No. 2 wheel bearing grease" etc.

I need more than 200 characters for my "signature." I'd love to see that changed to 250!

Cornhead grease is No. 0 or 00, basically an extremely heavy weight oil.  In my opinion it would be too thin to run in wheel bearings.  No. 2 wheel bearing grease is probably what you have in your grease gun if you're using  a high quality grease.  I use red high temp grease when I do wheel bearings and it seems to stay put pretty well and no issues as of yet.  If you don't have any tubes laying around, you can get a little tub for a few bucks at the auto parts store.

I been getting those tubs that hurst referred to and nary a problem for I don't know how long.  Yeah that corn head stuf is just plain ole runny gun grease.  good for old leaky gear boxes though where one is having problems with leaks.

and I guess corn heads.  Confused

I install a grease zerk in the wheel hub or the cap if it is heavy enough and grease it with regular grease from the grease gun. If it is good enough for other bearings that grease should be good enough for wheel bearings. Never have any problems. Just don't blow out the grease seal.

Have saw a lot of wheel bearings fail, turn on shaft and lose cups using gun grease. Plus it makes a *****mess for the next person. Get a small can of the thickest wheel bearing grease you can find and pack the bearings full.
