I guess I need to take off the injector pump as I still cannot get my tractor to start. Must I line up some timing marks or just remove?, thanks.

Take small rectangle cover off the side of pump near the name tag, right below the shut-off lever. Turn the engine by hand until the marks line up, should be close to 22* BTDC. If near 22 on damper, but nothing in pump window, turn it one turn and watch once close to 22 again. Once timed, remove the 4 bolts holding the gear. Lines, linkage, and then the bolts that hold the pump on come in from behind where the gear was. Pretty simple job, just may sound complicated at first. Good luck!

Stuff  rag inside the timing cover so when you drop a flat washer from a pump mounting bolt it doesn't go all the way down into the oil pan...………………...
