We picket a sample of corn today and the head wasn’t pulling the stalks down like it used too. I checked the blades and they looked ok but there is a shorter blade towards the rear of the roller. It is 9 inches long with 6 holes in it. I thought that was called the clip but the parts book “clip” isn’t the same as mine. Can someone tell me what that piece is actually called? Can these pieces cause the stalks not to pull through properly? We don’t have a local combine dealer anymore so I am having a hard time tracking this part down.   We may just weld metal strips along the edges of them. Thanks in advance.

are your deck plates adjusted properly? a thick stalked plant wont feed well if pinched.
