So I recently purchased a 7045 for a big brother to my 7020. The thing rides like a lumber wagon though. I looked at at the cab mounts and they seem fine (cab actually looks better on the 7045 than on my 7020). The 7020 rides like a Cadillac compared to the 7045. The only differences I can think of that might matter are:
7020 has 18.4-38 radial ply with six of the big wheel weights (1800 lbs total), fluid in one tire, and a full rack of suitcase weights.
7045 has 18.4-38 bias ply with no weights, no fluid.
Both tractors running about 18 PSI in the rears. Does radial ply make that much of a difference?
I can rotary hoe with the 7020 at 10mph just fine. But the 7045 bounced like crazy and is not suitable for rotary hoeing until I get this fixed.

I thought about trying 8-12# pressure in the rears,,easy enough to try and see if that helps....

So you think it’s the weight? I would think the heavier 426 engine would help, but maybe not enough weight on the rear?

Micheal,
I’ve had sidewalls tear apart on a few rear tires, so I’m a bit hesitant to lower the pressure to much. Will 8-12 be okay with a 1500 lb cultivator on the back going down the road?

This would be something you would just hafta experiment out yourself,,may not want to go lower than 12-14 with a load....1500# cultivate don't sound like much load...check an see if there are weight/pressure ratings on the sidewall

Bias ply tires will do it. Ours had bias on it and road terrible. Radials are much smoother

7 & 8000 series are 6in longer wheel base than my 220 but ride like crap in comparison. Has a lot to do with where they positioned the seat VS the rear axle in my opinion.

Please do not lower the air pressure too much and load it heavy. I have replaced quite a few tires because fellows did this. The cords will pull loose inside the tire and destroy the tire and tube. Are the bias ply long bar/short bar tires. If they get worn, they will ride rough. Are they both the same brand on the 7045? Are they 6-8-10-or 12 ply tires? Higher ply will ride rough. I had a man buy a JD tractor over the internet. When they delivered it, you could not ride in it, it shook terriable. He wanted me to bring 2 new Firestone 18.4x38 TRaction Field and Road tires out to the farm and install them. When I got the first tire apart, the tube was twisted up. Yes the tire was up against the bead all around. Just for my own information, I put a new tube in his tire and drove his tractor down the road. The problem was solved. No more rough riding.

My 7050 rides nice, better than the 190XT but the 7050 is on radials and has 14Lx16.1 fronts. But I did eventually put an air ride seat in it because my back is so bad.

Here is my experience with my 7045. BKT 18.4-38 bias rears at 15 psi. dry. Firestone 4rib up front and ten weights. Bounces like crazy on the road. So I fillled the rear tires and took off the front weights. The ride has improved and the front tires don't flat spot from extended sit times as it has in the past. Have not tried reducing pressure in the front. The 7060 rides better but it has Firestone 23 degree bias loaded and one tri-rib Goodyear front, one Firestone 4rib. With 8 weights.

When we changed from bias to new firestone 18.4x38 radial duals on our two-ten it changed that tractor completely. tractor pulls better and rides great on the road and in the field. IMO it is the Best investment a guy can make in a tractor of 100 h.p. or more.
