9 hour trip home listening to a sqeeking u joint . Hope everyone makes it home safe . Great show as always. Thank you to the Upper Midwest AC club and it's volunteers / members . I know a lot of work and effort was put in to make this the best AC show around . Thanks to Ted for bringing some cheese and sausages Saturday . Thanks to everyone who attended the forum meetings. I enjoy putting names with faces even though I forget more names than I remember.

Was good visiting with you this year. A good story with the sound of a Nelson muffler in the background.
Started raining at 9am and ended up in a shelter waiting for the tornado at 3pm. No show for a picture at 11.

Hope everybody makes it home safe, and there aren't too many deer hit along the way! One of these years I'll make it back up Nort to Hutch.

Had a long day Friday and didn't make it to Saturday's meet and great. Did get to see a few of the members and as ALWAYS, it is so good to see you all and hear your AC stories. The Orange Spectacular is a highlight of my year. The AC's make it fun, but the people make it great.

Stopped in Des Moines for fuel, total of 8 hours on the road but made it home with my 2 new front truck tires.  Can't say enough good about the folks in and around Hutch.  Car Shop Inc., across the road from the field are great honest people, big THANK YOU to Darrell Grams for making the arrangements for me.

We got back about 6:30pm. It took right at 16 hours. According to the odometer 1019.3 miles.

Really good show, this was my favorite thing.

Nice video Ranse , great way to honor someone like Arlan .
Got both U joints replaced this evening . Back one was locked up tight . Replaced both and made sure both were free before putting the drive shaft back in . Sure is nice to have a quiet truck again.

We’ll be leaving in the morning. Randy MN and I spent most of the afternoon on WCs in the rain shunting combines and balers from the lineup to the club shed. We finished that, then 2 other guys and I hooked onto hay equipment and went to Larry Karg’s, but got poured on for the last mile or so. Even so, it was fun for me. Especially when I think about where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing in a month...I’ll take tractors in the rain over college lectures any day of the summer.
And as the others have said, I enjoyed getting to see everyone again. To quote Unit3, Allis-Chalmers makes it fun, the people make it great!

Did not get to see a lot of the show because I was meeting customers and selling parts, but definitely enjoyed meeting many of you that I have talked to on the phone. The display of 220's was impressive, as was all of the tractors and equipment. We are about halfway home and will make it the rest of the way tomorrow.

Norm, what happened?? Traveled with you to within an hour or so of your place before we split off and there were no issues until then. Hope the damage wasn't too bad.

Well guys, I'm sure sad I missed the show this year but it sounds like you all had a good time even without peaches.  Sounds like Ted helped keep you fed!  I'm going to start a new post of my strange weekend on the trucks& varmints page.  I really hope to make it next year.  Hopefully Shameless's air conditioning works and he doesn't make a stop at the casino...

Hope it was minimal damage for you Norm, I smacked a deer on my way home too, but that was Saturday night... Car doesn't look so nice now.Cry  Guess I should have stayed longer, left earlier or drove faster... or took my truckLOL

Enjoy the freedom you have while you can there Creston... and good luck in collage.

Pat, Glad you got home and got your truck fixed....

Ranse, that was a pretty good video of the self propelled round baler...

Here is just a short poor vid I made of the 220, 170 and the WC plowing [TUBE]Et0pvBZQwmI[/TUBE]

The day spent there was to short but enjoyed it all and talking to friends, and watching the field demonstrations.

We got back shortly after midnight this morning. Made the 860 mile trip in 1 day, even after stopping at Arland Lepper’s All-Crop museum. I really enjoyed that, even though the 2 hrs we were there didn’t feel like enough time. Hopefully next year I can swing over and see Charlie Widlund’s collection, if all goes well. Things are getting dry here at home. Grass isn’t green anymore. It’s that time of year.

We should have a meeting time at Charlie's place. I have been there and have never gone away without a smile on my face. AC's for as far as the eye can see. With a Gleaner or two thrown in just for fun.
