The 80T sickle mower has its own hydraulic cylinder mounted on the trailer and it has about a 15 foot half inch diameter quick connect hydraulic hose that will snap onto the back of my tractor hydraulic system but how is it controlled?(this cylinder raises and lowers the sickle bar from a level position when it's mowing up to 90 degrees perpendicular to the ground) I'm getting some hoses made and have not hooked it up to see how it works so I'm asking ahead of time to get some information so I'm not using it blind for the first time... I don't think so. Our 82T would lift the bar about a foot or foot and a half, parallel to the ground. If you want it vertical, you need the transport rod stuck in the appropriate hook on the mower, then lift the bar by hand, to vertical, then attach the eye to the bar, with the big wing nut! ------------- Source: Babylon Bee. Yes the same lever that operates the lift arms operates the remote line. Depending on the weight and resistance the arms may move before the remote cylinder will. You mention getting hoses made. A CA will only operate a single acting cylinder unless modifications have been made. Does your mower have a single acting cylinder (1 hose) or double acting (2 hoses)? A word of caution about lifting a cutter bar by hand. Keep hands and fingers away from the knife guards and knife, the knife can slide as the bar is being lifted or lowered. Fingers have been cut off when caught between the knife and a guard. |

| The line connects to the remote coupler on the tractor. best to have the engine off and arms lowered when you connect and disconnect it. |

| First we need to know more about your ca. Pin hitch or snap coupler? Pin hitch will use the lift arms pointed down with the draw bar hooked to it. If its pin hitch the lift arms are always down so only the hyd coupler will work. On snap coupler the lift arms with raise before the hyd coupler will do anything. Just takes a few seconds longer. |

The tractor lift cylinders retract to lower the lift arms on the tractor. The cylinders extend to raise the lift arms. The remote cylinder's action will follow the same way. You want pressure off the cylinders/hose connections for easiest operation when connecting and disconnecting a hose to the remote. Lower or mechanically secure equipment operated with remote cylinders when unhooking. This is to take the pressure off the remote cylinder or you may well have a problem next time you try to connect the hose. Residual pressure in the remote attachment's hose can prevent coupling it into the remote coupler on the tractor because you can't push the check valve of the hose coupling end off its seat. |

| im4racin is correct on the pin hitch vs snap coupler. I was referring to snap coupler as that is what I have, overlooked that some had pin hitches. |
