I bought a pair of 28" MF, PA wheels and tires, about 6 months before I got my D17. After I got the tractor, I did some measuring and found the bolt pattern to be the same for the wheel weights. Of course you can't put them behind the wheels but, to me, they don't look to bad, this way.

Over the last 6 months, I took the weights off the MF wheels (400 lb each, with bolts), cleaned them up and added some new paint. Then, I did some measuring and ordered some 3/4" bolts, 1" longer, than I figured I'd need, for 2 reasons 1st, If I had mis-measured, I could shorten but, not make them longer 2nd, I also, have 2 sets of 150 lb weights, that I can add coupling nuts and add them on the out side, giving ~1100 lb total.

It makes the tractor 16" wider (94"), as is, maybe 8" more, if I add the 150's so, I'm not sure I'll do that, unless I need to make a class.

How close are they to going inside I found my new l180 had 8 bolt spacers 1 1/2 thick in between the hub and rim

You can wash the dirt off the body but you can’t wash the farmer out of the heart and soul

There is no way that they could ever go inside on a D17 center. The contour, just isn't close and there is not much room between the hub and the final drives. The MF center has a much deeper dish.

Frank,
Looks like they found a new home. You headed for the 6,000 lb class?
Regards,
 Chris
